This sack back gown offers manageable possibilities for reproducing.  The fabric, a watered silk, is known today as a moiré taffeta and can be found in  home decorating fabric stores in a rayon and cotton blend.  The key is the rayon which will give it sheen and draping qualities. This weight and not the moiré's found in bridal departments replicates silk beautifully.  Click here for a sleeve flounce trim.
